We headed up yesterday to see conditions for the Brenva Spur but got put off by the massive serac threat on it. Stuck for things to do from the Fourche bivy hut we decided to simul-solo up the S couloir in the Cirque Maudit which brings you to the top of the Tacul. Nothing too technical but the snow was good early in the morning- the ice section was pretty poor crumbly ice but it’s short. 4 hours from hut to Midi station so conditions are ok as long as it’s cold
