Rive Gauche - Homage to the Homeland

Stuck for things to do without a running car we headed over for some more fun on the rive gauche in the last few days. Three days ago we opted for the start of Tequila Stuntman followed by the LHS of the last pitch of Nuit Blanche- probably the last combination we could do on this ice climb that we hadnt done yet. The top pitch is pretty awesome on the LHS and definitely worth doing. The start of the top pillar is pretty hollow and makes for some interesting climbing with some delicate hooks and a pretty steep start.

Yesterday saw us head off for another Bullock-Benson route that they have been putting up recently. Homage to the Homeland is given a VII 8 and a pretty fun climb. The first pitch is a great technical climb with hard to place pro, whilst the second is the inverse as the pro is great but it is pretty steep and full on. All in all another great day out on some scottish style stuff….though admittedly not looking particularly wintery.
